How to create a constrained elongated hexagon

I am drawing a grill that has a mesh pattern, which there are plenty of tutorials on how to do but they all assume that the mesh holes are symmetrical in which case the polygon tool works fine. I want the holes to be an elongated polygon or hexagon whatever the proper term is. I need to design it in a way that I can change the overall grill size and/or hole size and still have rectangular distribution be even. Possibly there is a better workflow that I am not aware of but it seems to accomplish that I would need the to be able to have the diamond overall length, horizontal edge length, and overall height as parameters but I cant do this without over constraining. Attached is an abbreviated version of what I am trying to create

Can you File>Export your *.f3d attempt file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

@TheCADWhisperer

diamond testing was just to make a visual of what I want to accomplish it does not have the constraints

grill test has the constraints

Also I made a screencast that hopefully explains it a little better

Hi,
If you combine my attached file ( # 3 ) with your parameters you should get the desired result.
A good advice is to start the pattern from the center and not from the edges.
