How to change parts in assembly without affect links?

Hello,

How can I please change parts in assembly without affect links? For example, I have bolt M20x40 in assembly and I need to change it for M20x50 without doing new links. Is it possible?

Break link and change the lengths

Open and change linked part file.

After saving the part in the linked file,

Get Latest in main file.

Thank you for answer, it was just an example with bolts. Realistically I need to change part for assembly with the same dimensions like part and no break the links. In the other cad softwares there is an easy function for that....

I guess like this: insert new part (with link) > create link for it > hide 1st part

Hi,

The joint refers to the existing component and must therefore be renewed when inserting another one.
However, I could imagine creating an empty component for the leg and inserting different models into it.
