How to apply STL file (with support structure) in simulation workplace?

I exported the model with support structure from Netfabb, then wanted to do stress and thermal analysis in simulation, but the parts are unable to be displayed in the simulation workplace.

How to apply STL file or analysis parts with AM support in the simulation of Fusion 360?

Thanks!

Hello @Anonymous ,

Have you tried converting your mesh to a solid body in mesh workspace?

  • Go to mesh workspace
  • Modify-->convert mesh-->select body-->select prismatic-->Ok

Let me know if this helps, thanks!

Thanks, the part can display in the simulation workplace, but the support structure has serious interference for components, and can't run solve for the simulation analysis.

Do you have any suggestions? How to preserve the support structures and run solve?

Hello @Anonymous ,

I am glad you are able to see the part in sim workspace 🙂

This means your problem is resolved 🙂

For the interference issue, I recommend you to go through the video below :
