Two questions...

How does one measure the depth of a blind hole?

How does one measure the distance between two holes without getting a birds nest of three values?

I don't think you need a screenshot for that.  I have a counterbore. Similar to the OP, I want to know the depth. The counterbore goes part way through the bulk of the base component. I want to make a matching counterbore, so I need to know the diameter and depth. The diameter is easy. The depth is not obvious. Please help.

When measuring, always start if possible, by selecting a surface.

That was a terrific answer and I am super grateful!  Now for  another question: how do I mark this as solved?  This seems like a really silly question, but I honestly don't see it.

Only the TO or an Admin member can do this.
