How do I browse to the Libraries' Assets in order to retrieve a drawing template?

I'm in a project folder and I want to make a drawing of a design using a template saved in the Libraries project directory

In the CREATE DRAWING dialog box, I pull down the Template box to select "browse". The Select Template menu pops up with only my PROJECT folders to the left.

Where is the Libraries project directory? How do I navigate specifically to DrawingTemplates under the Assets folder?
These directories are standard with Fusion 360, they were never made by me. So how do I access them when working on a design in my own project directory?

Hi @ercwtsnHDS

There is no default drawing Templates location in the Assets Folder.  Templates are (currently) stored in the Project Folders.

So what is the purpose of the Libraries?

If the Assets project folder is described as something containing templates used by Fusion 360 but only templates stored in the current project folders can be used then what's the point of having a DrawingTemplates folder in the Assets folder?

Hi @ercwtsnHDS

I understand your frustration. I agree that we should have a drawings folder for templates, that lives in a centralized location (outside of project folders). The good news, is that there is currently work going on in the background to unify our libraries and templates experience.

Out of the box, there shouldn't be a drawings folder in that location, although it is possible to add one via the web client.

I'd love your feedback on storing templates and drawings in general. If you're up for it, here is a link to my calendar, please book a session with me, I can show you what we're building over Zoom. I'll even give you a sneak peek at some of the upcoming projects that we are working on.

It's less frustration than it is curiosity.

Since Fusion 360's inception, the Libraries as always been there; barely a mention about it from anyone at Autodesk. When launching Fusion it sits right above the often visited sample projects. And it sits at the top of all the projects when on the web.

But it doesn't work as expected.

It's been there since the beginning and it still doesn't do what one would expect it to do, to function as a repository of resources used across all projects.  And what's strange is the news that it's not suppose to work as expected.

If it doesn't work or isn't supposed to work, then why is it still there after all these years?
