how can i disable capture and revert position

I work with the general solid works method. Parts and assemblies are in separate files. my assemblies are quite large. I do not like and have no use for 'capture and revert position'. It damages my assemblies. Can I disable this function?

no, but if you use a Direct Modeling design for your "assembly" (instead of a Parametric design), you will not see this appear.

Thank you for the reply but. I have been testing this idea. I find that using direct modeling for my main assembly dose not work. I can not delete joints. I have a ball joint that I want to delete so that I can attach a rose joint to a new position. It will not do a delete in direct modeling.

It looks like I am back to ‘capture and revert’ which I cant stand. I will decide where my parts need to be.

Please share an example where you cannot delete a joint.  You should be very much able to delete a join in DM.

Thank you I have found the problem. Another joint in another part of the assembly was showing the yellow triangle. This normally means it needs an update, but I am not sure that applies to joints. So, I deleted that bad joint and that has freed things up. I can now delete joint I want to. Seems like one out of date joint fouled all the others.

Thank you I am running again.
