History timeline no longer showing, can't edit features

Prior to the recent update I used the history timeline to right-click on previous features and edit them.  For example, to change the depth or selected profiles for an extrusion.

I can see the extrusions and other features in the "browser" panel on the left but when I right-click on them "edit feature" is not an option.

So how to edit existing/previous features now?

Hi,

Has the history been switched off?

Doh!  Yes, it had.  But I am not sure why.  This is a new design and new designs used to default with history enabled.

I knew that was a possibility but I could not see the little gear icon in the lower right corner where I normally go to disable/enable history.

I also, noticed this the other day with a different design that I hadn't worked on in a while but I KNOW I had not disabled history. I opened it and had just changed a few things and went to edit one of them and they weren't showing in the history.  The history was still there and showing but the last few changes I had made (new sketch, extrusion, etc.) were not showing in the history.

Bug?  Change in behavior?

Anyway, thanks for making me look again.  I had forgotten I could right click on the document name in the Browser and enable/disable history there.

Hi,

Note: When opening STP or STL, the history is automatically switched off.

Sorry to jump on this thread, but I am having a similar issue. I've opened an assembly file made by someone else - that person left 2 years ago. There was no Design History for anything and no Joints, even though there must have been to put the parts together. I right clicked the file name and clicked 'Capture Design History'. This has given me some Joints and inserted parts, but the parts drawn within the file have nothing and I can't edit them (body 6 and body 7 need editing). What can I do?

Attach the model and let the Forum users take a look.  Normally once the design history is removed all parametric features and editing is lost but you can use Direct Modeling editing.

If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.
