Hiding visible lines in 2d drawing

I was trying to add a decal to a cylinder but couldn't dimension the position of the decal. To get around this I made a thin component to go around the cylinder. I then added the decal to the thin component and was able to dimension it.

This brought me to a new problem... the visible lines. I know you can turn visible lines off in the Design workspace. My issue is in the Drawing workspace, where I can't seem to turn visible lines off (See photo). The lines from the thin component wrap around the cylinder entirely.

Any ideas on how to hide these lines?

Hi @Hunterstubbs

If you change the size of your decal sleeve slightly, making it slightly smaller, the lines will not show.

See my results below:

Thank you. The objects behind the label seem to be coming through, do you know why that might be?

That is different to mine. Did you use the same sizes that I did? If so, can you delete the views and place them again to see if this makes a difference?

I've attached my files for reference

If I delete the views I loose my dimension reference and am not able to reselect it because it's smaller than the main cylinder.

Try toggling the view from shaded to hidden, add in the dimensions that you need, then toggle it back2021-06-30_19h28_04.gif

Awesome! Thanks so much. That did let me dimension correctly. Unfortunately I am still having the issue of seeing the objects behind the label. I've added an update photo.

I've also tried adding a view to your drawings(other photo) and the same thing happened. Maybe I have a setting turned on that I shouldn't? Is it possible it has anything to do with the "Environment" or render space?

Anyway.... Thanks for your help

Ok...

The ring that the decal is on has a material of "Air", this means that the label is slightly see through. If I change it to Steel, the label looks right. You may want to change the sleeve material and trim it to the size of the label.

Air : transparent

Steel : opaque
