hi working through fusion . spent yesterday learning to import model but doesnt seem to matter what i do the model is hollow . any way to stop this and get a solid model imported

Can I assume the model is in stl or obj format. If so, you need to lessen the faces and convert it to brep. There is many helpful youtube videos available describing it step by step.

yes it is i did convert it to brep but when i try to add a radius to the edges it wont do it because its hollow. went through all the steps on the videos even converting it

Darren Upfield the best would be to use the imported model as a reference only and rather reverse engineer the model you need
