Hi guys I'm very new to fusion 360 and I'm trying to design a golf aid as I'm a PGA pro. Does any know what thread size a standard tripod screw/camera is. I need to be able to mount the device on a tripod. Thanking you in advance.

I’m also fairly new at this but it seems like it might be a better idea to make slot for a captive nut you could slide in, that is if you plan on getting your device 3D printed.

I was close!
Per ISO 1222:2010, the current tripod bolt thread standard for attaching the camera calls for a 1/4-20 UNC or 3/8-16 UNC thread. Most consumer cameras are fitted with 1/4-20 UNC threads.

3/8" is the diameter 16 threads per inch. Or 1/4" diameter and 20 threads per inch

Tony Boersma if you want to make a 3/8-16 tapped hole,, the drill for the tap is a 5/16.

Bill Wanick it gets you pretty close 3/8-1/16 = 5/16 like you said. Metric is easier m4-.7 would be 4 minus .7 = 3.3mm.

Thats what the random drill chart i saw said... close enough to make em aware that its not just a 3/8 hole for the tap.. 🙂
