I am trying to make a pattern and the pattern cannot fit in the allotted space. I was wondering if the pattern could be made to half resolve and terminate at the edge of the given space.

the component in question is called 'motherboard top mesh panel'

Thanks for this idea. Is there anyway to make the patter terminate in a defined space, without creating the the extra bit afterwards?

Hi,

1. Can you show what you are talking about in a screencast?
2. There is also an option to suppress certain instances.

I'm sorry, I don't know how to do that yet. I understand about suppression, I utilized that to make that pattern. But my tolerance between shapes and restriction of the space given, leaves one too few iteration to be fully completed. Thus leavening odd dead space. So I was wondering if the was a way for the pattern feature to just make an iteration up to a constrained point? Not completing a full iteration. I see how it does that if there is nothing beyond, but can it if something is beyond?

Hi,

1. After watching the screencast, all you need to do is follow the process with your pattern and the inner and outer contours.

2.

I decided to use that first method you showed me. I just needed to change my order of operations.
