Help please. Can't extrude from a mirrored spline

See the screencast:

I sketched a 40mm square.

then some construction lines, 2 joining the middle of the opposite sides, 1 diagonal corner to corner and a couple offset inside the square at 1.5 and 3 mm.

Using the offset construction lines I created spline from the diagonal the the middle of one side. I then mirrored the spline across the diagonal and side to side lines to create a ribbed line round the inside of the square.

I want to extrude the area between the ribbed line and the square , without any taper.

I can select the area to extrude but when I enter any extrude length  (even just 1mm) it says cannot complete extrusion and more details says the extrude profile is not valid. Same if I select the area inside the spline.

Hi.

Unfortunately I have erased the relevant sketch and had not done a save before that.

If I run into the same issue again I will post again including the f3d file.
