Having trouble importing manufacturers parts

Anonymous
Not applicable

The last couple of months I've been having an issue importing 3d parts via the 360 parts repository. Currently trying to import 8020 parts but the same issue happens with Mcmaster-carr parts as well. In the preview menu, everything shows up accurately but when I press the button to send the part to Fusion 360 nothing ever happens. I get the pop up requesting permission to open the new application but the part never opens in fusion 360.

There are some licence restrictions for this depending on your entitlement, you may have to check that, but generally it’s, Open or Insert to Current Design, McMaster Carr is automated, So sounds like your Licence is a contributor.

Might help.....

Make sure you are selecting SAT format in the McMaster-Carr app.  Sometimes it will not work but the STEP format will so try either one.  By the way, if it will not work for you with either format, go to their website and download the SAT or STEP file directly.  You can easily open it in Fusion 360.

Well I was able to import 8020 parts in the past. Then one day it just stopped working. With the exception of importing parts, all other functionality has remained the same. If that makes a difference..

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for raising your query onto Autodesk Forum and sorry to hear that you are facing problem importing Manufacturing part into Fusion 360.

Can you please try the solution mentioned in the article here, if you are using Windows as operating system.

If you are using Mac as OS with Safari then I will suggest you to try Download and Install the Google Chrome for MAC and use this Webbrowser as default on the MAC PC.

Also check that you haven't run out of number of tickets for importing manufacturing parts in Fusion 360.

Thanks and Regards,

You have not stated what file format?

If you are on Free license you can no longer translate proprietary formats like *.sldprt.
