having to press maximize button to view task

i have got the down load ok

when i try to do any thing the only way I can see what  it is the press the maxinize/mininize [restore down ] button

the screen the show it, is this updating due to slow internet or a slow computer

is my computer too old or what

Could you do a Screencast of what you are seeing.  It is very difficult to understand what is happening from your description.

I would also appreciate a visual aid to this problem, but maybe you can confirm if I understand correctly:

 

You've downloaded the Fusion 360 installer, and it appears to be working, but the only way to make the install status update is to minimize and reopen the window again? Does it ever finish?

I seem to have down loaded ok
all the functions work ok but when I do something like draw a circle the circle does not come onto the screen unless I min/max the screen then the circle appears, I can then extrude but again nothing changes in the screen until min/max
I have not get very far with using the programme as you can not see what you have done and it means that some times the drawing is repeated as I can not see what I have done
is this because my computer is old or something I have done wrong?
