Hello Fusion Team!

So, in my line of work we do a lot of exporting to AutoCad after creating in Fusion (before through Inventor).

One of the main things I am currently missing in the drawing section is the ability to Hatch my products (views).

I see in the road map a potential idea of "Solid Hatch" but as this is a gray balloon there and not all too clear,

can you please let me know when a function like this becomes avalable? And if yes, will this Hatch become a seperate Layer when exporting to AutoCad?

When I export a product to Auto-Cad and try to make a Hatch there (which can only be done on simplified DWG exports, as the standard Autocad DWG export does not put the lines of a product in a seperate Layer) the model gives several error spots when trying a Hatch, suggesting the model is not closed (o cannot be hatched). For us, this is far from optimal.

Long story short: Is there any indication on when A Hatch can be made in the work drawings?

Hi Mark

We plan to add Solid Hatch to Fusion this year as an option on section views. We are not currently planning to introduce hatching to drawings outside of sectioned views. I hope that answers the question.

Hello Clint,

Answer is clear for me. Thanks for your reply.

Do you then perhaps know if there is an option to have the Lines and the Actual color inside a product become seperate layers when exporting to AutoCad? The colours from Fusion can be exported 1 on 1 into AutoCad, but cannot be controlled seperately.

I have been asking around on this before, as it is a specific feature we desperately need in our company to ensure the work-flow. (but, I think it very specific for our company)

What we need is that colours inside products are shown when viewing a drawing in AutoCad(digitally), but These same colours, I do not want to print them.

Now in the workflow of our company, A colleague of mine would have to "turn of the lightbulb" with every drawing she wants to print in order to achieve this in AutoCad. As this is also the active layer when exporting, this means she has to do several "mouse - clicks" extra in AutoCad to have this arranged. After printing she would need to turn the lightbulb back on as we need the colour there digitally.

Seeing as she has to repeat this process around 10 to 20 times daily, this is not an optimal solution.

When I turn of the plot in properties of this Layer in Autocad, the entire product (colours and lining) dissapear, a they are somehow connected.

I have been struggling quite a bit on this   and am not finding a right work-around on this(yet).

Perhaps you (or anyone reading) has the golden idea for me on how to achieve this? If this is simply not possible, I will have to consider changing the work flow within our company (which is not my first choice as you can imagine)

Apologies, this is very company specific and I am aware it is not a "simple" request.

PS: Not sure if this should become a seperate topic?
