I want to get my drawings out of my "Personal Use" version of Fusion 360 so I can work on them in FreeCAD, but both DWG and DXF formats are restricted to paid-for versions. Is there another format that can be used for this purpose? Surely Autodesk didn't intend to hold my "intellectual property" (such as it is!) hostage to make me subscribe? What's worse, some of my drawings I did before the restrictions came into force!

You only have the option to open up your model and go to File, Export and choose STEP format.  This will probably be better anyway since you will not have to recreate the solid bodies of your design in FreeCAD.  STEP is a neutral formot accepted by most all CAD packages.

Thank you - yes, STEP does allow me to import my 'model' into FreeCAD. Now I have to work out how to convert the individual components into something editable (I've discovered how to hide a component - but not how to make it visible again!).
