This program is nearly unusable right now. Using the trackpad to navigate only results in zoom and and out. NOTHING ELSE. All other Gesture-Based-View-Navigation is GONE.

I am having the same problem. No ability to pan or orbit using gestures controls (on a MacBook Pro running with Intel i9). If I slide two fingers along the trackpad, the model will zoom in or out. Pinching does not zoom in or out. Sliding two fingers along the trackpad and holding shift also does nothing.

I tried restarting the program multiple times, and checking and unchecking the "gesture based navigation" checkbox in the general settings. The problem still persists. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the report, we can reproduce this issue and are investigating a fix. In the meantime, can you please try enabling the macOS Native Trackpad preview feature under Preferences, and see if this continues to work for you?

Turning on “Native Trackpad (macOS only) works like a charm, I can now use my trackpad to move the model around. Pan, zoom, and orbit all function properly. Yay!

Thanks kindly

Can confirm that checking Native Trackpad (macOS only) works for pinch to zoom and panning.  Preferences>general>preview features>general>native trackpad
