Geometry selection broken?

I'm trying to select a complex body created form an SVG file. It is a 2d outline of a pine tree. I have inserted the SVG file into the sketch and scaled it to how I want it cut and extruded it to the correct thickness for the material I am using. I have done this many times.

I updated Fusion 360 today and restarted the program.

Since doing this when I am the CAM workspace and I am trying to select my body to be cut it does not select the whole body, it wants to select tiny segments of the original SVG drawing, of which there might be thousands......this is very frustrating.

I have made sure that the sketches are turned off in the MODEL workspace and bodies are turned on thinking it was trying to select something in the drawing.

I ran this same thing earlier today prior to the upgrade and did not have a problem it just selected the entire outline of the body like usual.

I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong or if the update has a bug in it....

Please help

Thank you

What CAM strategies are you using? Could you share the design here?

I'm using a trace toolpath. I'll upload the file later.

I just tested this with an SVG file and couldn't reproduce with what I have on hand.

You may try using the open contour selection method discussed in the below thread as a work-around.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/machining-discussions/selection-of-just-a-partial-contour/td-p/608851...

More info from the help page:

I hope that helps!

Thanks,

Can you enable the design to be downloaded in the Share Link dialog?

I'm sure it is something I did wrong but I cant figure out what. I literally ran the same type of program this morning without issue. And when i go back to the model I made this morning it works fine, I can select the whole body outline no problem. To create this new tree2 body I took the original body and joined it to another body that was also created from an SVG.

Then I went to the cam set up the trace tool path to cut the new body and it would only let me select segments, not the whole outline, I don't see where I went wrong. If you could help I waould appreciate it.

Thank you

You may be able to do something like this in the below screencast to get the contour selection.

Let me know if this helps or if you have any questions.

Thank you, but I was able to isolate this to an issue with the svg file. I went back and re-created the SVG and this solved the issue.
