Hi all,

I've managed to edit a generic Hass post to work on my Siemens 810d with 4th axis (I hope anyway, I haven't tried it yet). All the code looks how I want but I can't find how to write the tool change properly . It should read T="tool" d1   but doesn't even though I've edited the post to do this .

Can one of you post geniuses take a look and point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

Using your part, I change a couple of the drills, number 2 and 3, you were using and then using your post ran the post process.  It seems to work as far as I can see.  Under each operation, the tool number is called and and a "M6" code (tool change) is listed.  below are a couple of partial screen captures of what I see.  I am not sure about what you list in your post of the syntax you are looking for.

If I read your post correctly you want to replace the T# M6 with T="Tool" D#. I see a property was added "toolAsName". When I set this to true it only changes the Tool Comments at the top of the post. So you would have to do something similar where the tool and M6 is being called.

Let me know if that helps.

What I'm trying to achive is a post for my Siemens 810d 4th axis that posts an 'A' axis position instead of using cycle 800 which my control will not read .

Is this something you would be able to help me with?

I've tried to use a generic Haas post but it won't work .

Thanks

Hello RobHewitt

I can probably help or at least find someone who can.

I ran your post on a 4th Axis file. It was posting the A axis angles so I'm not sure what the issue is.

Maybe some sample NC Code of what your looking for would help.

I'm doing a lot of research and by the looks of it I need to turn cycle 800 off. I have 2 posts 1 with cycle 800 (which my machine doesnt have) but all the canned cycles eg. cycle82 cycle83 are all correct and the tool is selected by using the name but errors out on the cycle 800 and a 2nd post where it posts the 4th axis as an A position and again the tool is selected correctly BUT all the canned cycles are wrong and won't work .

I'm no computer programming expert lol this is a real struggle.

All I want is to deselect cycle 800 on my 1st post and I will be fine ........... I think

Hello RobHewitt

Does the post with the cycle 800 support the A axis? It sounds like removing the cycle 800 would be the easiest way to go. Can you attach that post here? I'll have a look and see all what needs to be done.
