Generative design - starting geometry encompasses all preserve bodies but still getting error?

Hi,

I have several preserve bodies which are all fairly small surrounded by larger obstacles, and to help the solver I have created a starting body which overlaps perfectly with all the preserves avoiding the obstacles. Yet I still get the error "Cannot solve: The starting shape body must be in contact with all geometry objects to which you apply loads or constraints."

Does anyone have any tips? Thanks

Hi @ru19 have you also confirmed the subtle mention in the error message that ALL preserves must have a load or constraint?
In the Edit Model workspace, the Interference command in the Inspect panel can be used to check if there are any sliver geometry that could be either a gap, or interference that is causing the solver to complain. I was curious if this is the method used to verify it's 'water tight' on the geometry side of things.

I'm also curious if the Previewer can succeed without the starting shape.

If you attach the setup, or just portion of the setup that is giving you trouble, we'll be able to take a closer look.

Hope this helps!

I am also getting this same error. The starting geometry I am using is the output from a shape optimisation study so it is quite complex, however it is a solid body that includes all the preserve geometry. I have made sure of this by combining all the preserve geometry into the starting shape alongside having it as preserve geometry.

I would appreciate someone looking at the study setup to see if there is anything I am doing wrong as I have exhausted my own capabilities.

I have attached the Fusion archive file for reference. If there is another file format that is needed, please reply and tell me so I can upload it in that format.
