Fusion locks up in the drawing space

Hello everyone,

I am having trouble with Fusion freezing up when I am in drawing mode. No error messages of crash report windows pop up, it just freezes and I have to open the task manager to shut it down manually. It does it on every drawing when i am adjusting drawing views. When i am resizing a view, or turning on the xray view, it just locks up. While it happens on every drawing, it is somewhat random in the drawing. I never can pinpoint when it it will happen. I was hoping it would fix itself when the next update came out, but no such luck. It started after the previous update and I have been so busy,  i just had to live with it

 

Any help greatly appreciated!!

@TPrice_71 This appears to be a possible graphics problem? 

1. Check to see if there are graphics card driver update available? 
2. Also go into Fusion - help - Support and diagnostics - Graphics diagnostics and paste the information here?

I updated my graphics driver and it still locks up every time.

I found this possible solution in a post with someone having a similar problem,

 

"I would also suggest that you set Fusion up in Windows, to run on ā€œHigh Performanceā€ graphics settings. These 2 changes should give you far better stability."

 

I went and set up Windows per the instruction and I am still getting lock ups. It seems to happen when I go to re-scale a drawing view.

I have nearly the same issue. While working in drawing space generating i.e. splines system crashes. Sometimes only Fusion but sometimes I got a blue screen.

System is a brandnew HP ZBook Power 15 G10

Made a vid of the strange behaviour

. Working with the integrated Intel Iris grafic module does not cause any problems.

Had nearly the same problem (see post before) but could reproduce the behaviour.

Changed today in the Nvidia Control Panel the application specific settings the energy saving setting for fusion to maxium and until now no crashes. Maybe this helps.

This is a known issue and reported as internal ticket- FDWG-18009. We are still working on this random issue.

Are there any updates on this issue? After the last update, I am back to drawing lock-ups on every drawing. It still happens when scaling the drawing on the sheet.

Sorry for this issue, and we are still working on it.

 

Can you pls help to launch Process Explorer when work on Fusion? Please create mini dump files from both AcCoreConsole.exe and Fusion.exe when issue happens, and share the files with us. They will be helpful for us to check which processes have particular handles opened or DLLs loaded. You can also send them via mail. My mail address is 'Liang.chen@autodesk.com'

We received some dump files from users, and added some improvement and fixing by the symptom found in Dump. Ideally, the fixing will reduce the frequency of this issue, and it is available in the new update of ProD versin (2.0.18477). Please update to the latest version, and let us know if this issue is still there.

As my workaround doesn't fix the video_tdr_failure completly and I got the same failure much worser with

MS Clipchamp I decided to contact HP service. After some reinstalls of the driver and shared minidump files

they thought that this is not a SW issue. They proposed to exchange the GPU which belongs to the MB.

A support technician came to me and did this as part of the onsite warranty :-).

Now (since 5 days) the failure doesn't appear anymore.

 

So keep in mind that there could be also a defective HW the reason for the failure - and it could be that the HW is defective form first second of use as mine showed it instantly after installation.

 

.... and MS Clipchamp might be a app to stimulate this kind of failure as 3Dmark doesn't do so.
