Fusion crashing when opening file

We have a reasonably small assembly file that just keeps crashing Fusion every time we try to open it. Last time it was edited was March 19th. For the past few days at least (I think more like 2 weeks - not only me who's opening it) it's been inaccessible and crashes Fusion on any account, on any computer, when we try to open it. Opening prior versions has the same effect.

Please, get this fixed ASAFP or roll back the updates. We pay for a tool, not an obstruction, and right now this is a serious problem for my business. We NEED access to this file.

HI Steve,

Sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. I see in our backend that you had submitted the crash reports (along with your comments 🙂 ). Would it be possible to invite me into your project to see what could be happening? I may ask to have a couple more from our development team invited into that project too. If you are OK please use rajDOTkumarDOTilanchelianATautodeskDOTcom as the email invite. meanwhile we are going to look into the crash report that you submitted and see what we can find.

Hi Steve,

Wanted to give you a quick update. We are prioritizing looking at this issue and thank you for the access to the design. We have gotten to a point where we can get the Design to open but the moment we go into the Manufacturing workspace we crash again. There are a few things that we are trying to do to recover the design. (We went back to the March timeframe when this was last saved and in there we can open the Design but still get a crash as soon as we move into the manufacturing space). We have a hint of what might be happening and working to see if we can retrieve the entire file intact. We apologize for the inconvenience but we are definitely working on this as priority.

Thanks Raj. Are you able to give me any insight into what's causing it?

The root cause is what we are trying to identify. From a very high level the data passed along from the model to the manufacturing space is having a problem with one of the bounding boxes (This is a very high level summary). If we remove all the Manufacturing tool paths (studies) then the design opens successfully but we are trying to see how we can get this data back up without any data loss.

Thanks Raj. We have actually separated out many of the individual components for the purpose of CAM anyway, so if we lost the manufacturing data that would be a lot less of a problem than losing the CAD and drawings data. Is it possible for you to duplicate the model (and rename it whatever) in that folder and leave us with a usable version that doesn't have any manufacturing data currently in it? Right now  we urgently need to get drawings finished for anodizing spec.

OK Steve. I am going to work to get the CAM data removed so that you can open the design. I will also double check that you can open the drawings without any issues. I will update here as soon as I have a version for you updated. The way I am going to do it is "I will create another version of the top level design so that no history etc is lost" . I hope you are OK with me adding another version to the design.

This happened to me too many many times.  I sent a crash report this morning and now I need it soon!!!  Last it was saved in offline mode.  I need the latest version WITH CAM DATA!!! How can this happen?  Am about to buy another seat of Fusion but will be reconsidering as this shows a total lack of regard for our files.  There is CAM data there that has been customized and tweaked for a production run that will start in 3 days.  Yes I can go back and redo everything from the version that will open, but you should be able to fix my problem.
