Fusion Crash when changing scale and font size in Drawings

Wondering if anyone else has this happen. I'll be working on a drawing... does not matter if it's a new one, and old one, and unsaved one, a saved one... if I go to change the scale of the drawing, or the font size, it's like a 50/50 chance the program locks up.

It's been like this for years for me. Happened on all three of my computers. It just happened again so figured I'd check and see if anyone else has this or a work around. I captured a screenshot of it locked up. Below you can see the cursor is next to the 3 in 3:1 in the scale dialog box. I just changed that from 1 to 3 and before the part could change to reflect this, it locked up. Only thing I can do is to force close fusion. This happens to me when changing font size too within the drawing space. It feels like a 50/50 shot of it locking up. it's probably closer to a 20/80... just feels like it happens all the time.

It's a real bummer when I forget to save and have to completely remake the drawing.

Hi @ARTHUR-HM

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble. There are a couple of things to check.

1st off, please can you share your drawing template with us, for the team to take a look at?

2nd one, this could be related to graphics setup. Please can you share your graphics diagnostic with us.

Also, are you running windows or mac? Are you running on a laptop with dual graphics?

1) How do I export a drawing template to send over?

2) Here is a screenshot of the graphics diagnostics. This what you wanted?

ARTHURHM_0-1681482267736.png

3) I am on Windows. This happens on my two desktops, and my laptop. Graphics cards are 1080ti and a 3080 for the desktops and a 3070 for the laptop.

Hey @ARTHUR-HM
We haven't been able to reproduce this on our end.

I'm wondering if clearing your cache may help.
Please keep us updated on the issue.

Thanks

I will try that. The PC I'm using now is brand new. Only a few weeks old. Next time I make a print I will try and record it.

Unfortunately, I see screencast has been discontinued. I was going to try that today, and of course it happened to me twice again today lol.

This happens to me and my coworker on our ThinkPad Lenovo laptops all the time. But it doesn't happen to our other coworker who has a Alienware laptop. It is so frustrating because I am constantly losing work. I tried to have autodesk help me with the problem but they were not able to. If you find a solution please share!

I'm also having this exact problem. It happens most frequently on a new drawing after placing the first view. Four of my drawings crashed like this today, with 3 of 4 occurring when changing the scale on the first view and 1 occurring when changing the scale of a detail view made from the first view. After restarting Fusion and attempting to create the same drawing it hasn't happened again for that specific drawing. It happens regardless of up to date graphics drivers and through every version of Fusion since I started using it in Jan 2022.

Hi @prLQLS

Please share a link to your 2d drawing (as outlined above). We have been unable to reproduce this issue, so need a dataset where itā€™s repeatable, to do some analysis and see if we can find a root cause.

Hi @shaiFT4VG

Iā€™m sorry to hear that you are having issues. As detailed above, please share some additional information with us. We canā€™t reproduce this issue internally, so we need to see drawings where this issue manifests. We also need to understand the specific hardware where this issue is popping up.

Please send us a link to a 2d drawing where you are experiencing this happening, and also a DXDIAG, so that we can take a look at your hardware and driver setup.

Hi @shaiFT4VG

Thank you for sharing the file. I'll pass your file on to the team to see if we can replicate any crashes on our end.

I took a quick look at your graphics driver, there is a much newer one available, please give this a try.

https://www.nvidia.co.uk/download/driverResults.aspx/216869/en-uk

I would also suggest that you set Fusion up in Windows, to run on ā€œHigh Performanceā€ graphics settings. These 2 changes should give you far better stability.

I posted this back in April. Glad to see I'm not the only one having this problem. I am still having this problem. Every single day. I make hundreds of drawings a year, so this is super frustrating. I love fusion for it's CAM. But man... i lose so much time and sanity from all these dumb crashes. It's always the same thing. Changing my font size, or changing these scale size of the view, or changing the size of a tolerance. It always hangs before the change shows up in the drawing. I have to terminate the program from task manager, and none of the work saves.

So, my workflow is usually... Make a drawing. Save. Add a couple dimensions... save. Add a few more... save. Add some more... save. Add some text... crash.

Here is a screen shot of it crashed. This is what I see before I terminate the program in task manager.

You can see, I highlighted the text. Went to go change the font size to 18 from 16. I typed 18 and before the font could change size in the drawing, crash.
