Fusion 360 suddenly stuck at "Check your browser to sign in"

Hi, today my Fusion 360 is unable to sign in anymore, apparently completely out of the blue. I start it, click on "Sign in", then it displays "Check your browser to sign in" and nothing happens, I never get a sign in page in the browser. If I let it run for a minute or so, I do eventually get an "autodesk identity manager error report" dialog box and I am offered the possibility to send an error report (which I did).

This worked fine last week, I think that's the last time when I started F360 on this particular machine (Windows 11 Pro 21H2 build 22000.2538). I found https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Sign-in-in-Fusion-... and tried evertyhing I found there, but nothing worked:

- Changed default browser from Brave (which, again, used to work just fine) to Chrome and then to Edge.

- Enabled and then disabled "Run as administrator"

- Opened the service utility and selected "Reset", then "Repair".

- Manually installed the "single sign on component", then uninstalled it (because it didn't appear to do anything useful).

Plus:

- Uninstall F360 and then reinstall

- Uninstall, completely remove %localappdata%/Autodesk, then reinstall

All the F360-related processes were killed in Task Manager between attempts, but I no matter what I do I get the exact same behavior each time: F360 doesn't do anything after I click on "sign in".

I didn't change anything in the OS install. If there were any Windows updates, they were minor, because I was never asked to restart my machine to complete an update process. I can't remember when is the last time when I updated F360. According to add/remove programs, the installed version of F360 is 2.0.17954.

I have another F360 install on a macOS which is working fine (including online services), apparently just this installation is problematic.

Can you please let me know how should I fix this?

Thanks,

Bogdan

Bumping this because it was initially marked as "spam" and thus probably not seen by a lot of people.

Just coming back to say that I've given up on this. I am a software engineer, so I tried a more brutal approach: uninstall F360, removed all references to "autodesk" and "fusion360" from AppData (local and roaming), also looked through the registry and removed quite a few autodesk and F360 related keys, restarted the computer and reinstalled F360. After all this, I am still unable to get past the "sign in" window (and still getting a "this program has crashed" dialog box after F360 is stuck for a while in the "sign in" window).
To the Autodestk software team: I used F360 for a while and it is indeed an incredible piece of software, but you have to understand that people won't be able to realise how good it is if they can't get past the login page. It's 2024, login components (including SSO) have been a thing for quite a while now and there are tried and tested solution out there. I find it very weird that such a complex 3D CAD solution comes with such a lousy sign-in component. Fortunately I was using the free version, I hope that your paying customers don't get the same experience, because I would look for another solution in a heartbeat if I were them.

My apologies for the post above, it turns out that the fault was mine, although in a very indirect manner. A while ago I was getting really frustrated with Microsoft's continous attempts to shove Edge down our throats and thus I installed a software called "Edge Block" (https://www.sordum.org/downloads/?st-edge-block). Turns out that this software was the one that was preventing Fusion 360 to open its sign in window (even though I am not using Edge for anything). The weird part is that Fusion 360 did work alongside this software for a while, but I guess something changed recently somewhere in the OS or in Fusion 360.
Sorry again for the noise. At least there's a lesson to learn from here: don't use "Edge Block" with Fusion 360.

Thanks,
Bogdan
