Fusion 360 slows school internet

Hello, we are having an issue with Fusion 360 swamping the school internet bandwidth, this has been going on since before Christmas, and it is whenever Fusion 360 is used. Is this normal behaviour? Is there anyway around it?

The school really wants to use the software, but can't at the expense of the internet slowing down to unusable levels.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

@licensingWQJSD are your devices using the streaming installer downloadable from the website, or the offline installer provided to IT admins? The former is intended to keep an individual device up to date at all times, while the latter is designed to facilitate scheduling of updates in lab environments and mass deployments. If the streaming installer is used, it's possible that each client is downloading the same data on a per-device basis, which could saturate some connections.

Is the traffic coming from a specific device, or a specific user on each device? If so, it might be that a specific user has a file that is struggling to upload or download, and may be attempting an incomplete transfer again and again.

Please attach logs from one or more affected devices, and we can check if anything stands out.

@lance.carocci Hi thanks for coming back to me. I setup using the admin installer through SCCM (I have attached the installer I used to ensure that it is the right one). I have followed the instructions to setup scheduled updates during the early hours of the morning.

I will try to narrow it down to a user or device thanks and send the logs through.

Thanks again.
