Fusion 360 not recognizing closed profile

I have a sketch that I wanted to extrude in, but Fusion refused to recognize that it is a profile. Here are the debugging steps I followed:

  1. Followed this help guide on Autodesk's website
    a. Checked to see if everything is connected
    b. Imported it into a different sketch and still didn't work

  2. Tried to draw boxes around lines to see if they would intersect the box and create more shapes
    a. some lines didn't get recognized and Fusion wouldn't jump to those line when trying to draw lines

  3. I checked to see if all the sketch lines were on the same plane
    a. seemed to be on the same plane when I checked the side view

  4. Exported sketch as a dxf then re-imported it
    a. Still didn't recognize it as closed

  5. Imported dxf to Onshape
    a. It worked! Onshape recognized as a closed profile and allowed me to extrude it

One (or more) entity is not on the sketch plane. In Sketch mode select everything, right click and Move to sketch plane. Edit: if this option exists (which it does in your sketch) it means that something is not on the plane, even though by simple side view observation it may not seem so.
