Fusion 360 Is Not Recognizing Preform Installation

Anonymous
Not applicable

With the integration of Formlabs SLA printers with F360 in swing, I want to be able to export STL bodies directly into Preform. When I select "Output to 3D utility" and select Preform from the dropdown, the OK box is greyed out with the "download preform" button available. Preform is currently installed on this computer. The button also doesn't seem to do anything when clicked. I've tried uninstalling preform and attempting to reinstall using the button and that didn't work. How can I link the two so that F360 recognizes the Preform installation? Custom selection of the Preform application also does not work.

@Sualp.Ozel , can you take a look at this one?

This is a question about the "save as STL" function/dialog. Unfortunately I do not know why it is not recognizing your preform installation. My only recommendation is to make sure you have the latest version of Fusion and Preform installed on your computer. In the past when i experienced similar issues, they were resolved after a fresh uninstall / reinstall.

The Formlabs integration we recently announced is not in the Design workspace, it is in the Manufacture workspace.

It allows users to choose their Formlabs printers in an Additive setup, orient/ support their parts and export a ".form" file.

I too am having this issue. Preform started to crash when opening. Did a registry clean of broken files after uninstalling it and ever since then Fusion and Preform don't talk to one another. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling both softwares with a reboot after each and still can't get Fusion to "Print" to PreForm anymore

Looks like an issue on our end. We will try to fix it in the coming version.

In the mean time, you can use the "Custom" option in "Sent to 3D print utility" section

Option 1.jpg

Or you can create "*.form" file from the MANUFACTURE workspace  from an Additive setup

Option 2.jpg

Something is wrong with PreForm versions 3.20.0 and higher. I downgraded to version 3.19.1 and now Fusion and PreForm talk to one another again.
