Fusion 360 hogging CPU

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all,

I've been using Fusion 360 since 2 months. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. The only thing: It almost constantly uses 25% CPU power (I have 8 logical processors and 4 cores) with no apparent reason - meaning when the software is turned on but completely idle and I'm not even viewing the F360 window.

Version: 2.0.10027

Windows 10

Problematic Process: Autodesk Fusion 360 (Fusion360.exe). I've expanded this process in the Task Manager to drill down and pinpoint the single process responsible for this.

Does anyone experience the same thing?

Does anyone know why this happens?

What could I try to investigate this? - I can't view what module inside Fusion360.exe is causing this.

Thanks, L

I notice you are using an old version of Fusion. Try updating to the latest version.

To receive the update:
1. Restart Fusion 360
2. Wait for the update to start, you'll see a small 1 appear on the job status icon (the clock)
3. Click on the clock icon to watch the progress
4. Click Restart when the update is ready

@Phil.E thank you very much for your reply.

I did as you told - currently around 10 hours later my CPU is silent, which is great!

I was not aware of the fact that I had to manually update Fusion 360 - which, when thinking about it, actually makes sense.

I really hope this solved my issue, thank you for your help!
