Fusion 360 for education on a chromebook

Can the cloud version of fusion 360 be used on a chromebook to allow pupils to complete 3D modelling tasks while in lockdown. We normally use Inventor 2019

It depends on your class requirements.  In the Fusion web version, you can do simple part modeling (2D sketches, features, etc), but no assembly modeling, simulation, CAM, or drawings.  If that is sufficient, then the web version of Fusion will work, and is free for education.

Thankyou for your prompt reply. Any access to modelling for the pupils would be a huge advantage to us as an educator at the moment. Would it be as simple as instructing the pupils to register an educational account and downloading the software to their chromebook. If it means acessing Fusion through an educational account for the school that may be more problematic. I tried to register the school with Autodesk as an educational establishment but it would not accept the application saying it couldnt be found. Any help or advice in this area would be most welcome. Thanks again for your help.

Hey tomtimag,

We've actually just launched a program for students with Chromebooks. It's a fully functioning desktop version of F360 (with a few minor limitations) on a virtual machine students can access through the browser. But why is it limited to the education license?

My students are having trouble with getting access.  Our school district doesn't show up when they have to choose they're educational institution - Everett Area School District in Everett, PA.  I'm not entirely sure why it doesn't show... our local CTC vocational facility works (Bedford County CTC), and it's located within our school boundaries.  Any advice on getting added to the list?
