Fusion 360 does not work with eGPU on Mac (white/blank dialogs)

I bought an eGPU for my 2016 MacBook Pro (Radeon RX 5700 XT) explicitly because it was struggling to run Fusion 360. However, whenever I use the eGPU, Fusion 360 has exhibits a strange bug where the dialogs (like Edit Tool or Share) become a blank white. Technically, I can click on the dialog (the close button seems to work) but I cannot see what I am doing. This effectively means that Fusion 360 is unusable with the eGPU.

I just had that problem. While you have selected the eGPU for Fusion, the dialogs fun into trouble.

1. Close Fusion

2. Open terminal

3. Copy and paste the command below to disable the GPU foe the dialogs. It will use the CPU to handle those. Press enter and away you go!

launchctl setenv NEUTRON_CHROME_DISABLE_GPU 1

You will need to do this for every reboot of the Mac.

Perfect, thank you! FWIW, I added this to my crontab to prevent needing to do it on every reboot.

Just crontab -e and then add a @Anonymous line.

Are you having any trouble crashing when you Close Fusion?

I've had a lot of problems with Fusion crashing, in general. I'm not sure I'd tie it to closing the software...
