Create Sketch. Import SVG using Fusion 360 2.0.10806 (Windows). Place SVG. Extrude gear to 3mm. Fusion 360 crashes. Also crashes if imported as DXF.

Hi,

I have converted the file to Bezier

should work

I have eliminated a contour error in the process.
However, the contour seems to me to be of poor quality.

Fusion does not "crash" extruding this.  This SVG contains almost 7000 curves.  Extrude generates a different face for each one of those curves.  It's going to take some time to complete, but it will complete:

This is why using an SVG like this can cause problems for you.  See all these small faces?  Those will cause performance and maybe even modeling errors downstream

I understand that this is a suboptimal file and am aware of the difference between software crashing and hanging (or becoming sluggish). Each time I tried extruding the file Fusion would unexpectedly quit immediately. I’ve worked around the issue by changing the source, but thought it was worth reporting since the application would immediately fail when loading either SVG or DXF versions of the file.

I apologize, @mimir-fusion360 - I jumped to conclusions based on past posts by other people...  Plus, it did succeed for me.  Did you submit a crash report for this with your email address filled out?  If so, we can track it down on our end.  Thanks.

Is this post closed?

When I try extruding a section of an inserted .svg file, Fusion simply terminates the process with no error message.

I would consider that a crash.... it does not hang, take a long time, etc. it simply closes with no error message and there are no Fusion processes still running.

Is this a common problem?

Attach your SVG file and let the Forum users try it out and give you an answer.

Since what I am currently working on is a personal (unfinished) art project, I will make something comparable, check to see if the same "crash" occurs and will share. I am also currently in the process of attempting on various machines, so far crash occurs on 2 out of 2 PCs.
