Fusion 360 Client Downloader network error

Fusion 360 Client Downloader on Windows 10 gives a message:

"The following installation pre-checks failed to pass: Unable to connect to Network. Please check the connection."

Tried restarting router, disabling Avast, running as admin, nothing helped.

Tried installing it on a mac, same network, all went smooth.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

V

Probably your Windows Firewall settings, your UAC (User Access Control) level or your Anti-Virus application.  Turn off all three until the installation is finished.  Fusion 360 has certain requirements for Firewall to operate also.

My Windows Firewall settings are controlled by Avast which was disabled for the sake of F360 installation and UAC was set to "Never notify". Still getting the same network error message.

I think I can't do that. Linked webpage you provided refers to Service Utility, which I don't have available. I guess it is part of F360 installation package, and this network error is blocking F360 Client Downloader from installing anything related to F360. Is there another way of gathering system information and errors or alternative way of installing Service Utility?

Hi @keen.sonic , from the logs I see an error related to ssl. Not really sure why such a problem on windows only.

For you to proceed, please set an environment variable (under user variables) called "SKIP_PRECHECK" with value "1" and then proceed to launch installer again.

Thank you, that worked for the connection error but now there is this "[ASN1] nested asn1 error (_ssl.c:4174)"

It seems I am not the only one. Found this thread but the solution didn't work for me:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/nested-asn1-error-ssl-c-4174/m-p/11078581

I have never had any problems with software installation but this F360 is really something else.
