Fusion 360 changing account owner or project owners

Hello,

I work as a junior CNC programmer and i bought Fusion 360 to help me do my job. Now i have quite a few 3d models and CAM setups in my account. Understandably my boss wants to take over my Fusion 360 account, because technically everything in my account belongs to the company. I did a quick search and found a couple of ways to transfer over all the data, as I understand data can't be transferred between accounts, unless the two accounts are part of the same team and even then the data is shared.  So my boss can't take over my account, he has to make a new account.

If my boss uses the same computer i did, can i just export all the files from my cloud to the hard drive and my boss can access them from there and then save them to his cloud?

If i transfer the data over to him using the fusion team hub, does it mean i can't delete my account? Because the files are shared between us?

I would appreciate the help,

All the best,

Mikk

Hi @voiduinvest ,

I guess I am a bit confused as to the intent here. Does you boss want to take over your account entirely - i.e. your account becomes his and you stop using yours? If so, then I would change your email address (because he does not have an Autodesk Account) from yours to his. Then you don't need to migrate any data, and you will lose access to login with your account credentials, and he will gain access with his email (you will need to change the password, etc, but you get my point).

In the event he wants to have his own account own this - and have employees that save work to his account, then the Fusion Team route is the way you would go. I am confused as to why you would delete your account though. There is really no need in the scenario you describe? With Fusion Team, your boss would need to set up (and have a license to use Fusion Team or Fusion 360), and be the owner of that team. He would invite you as a Team Member and you would transfer the data from your personal ownership hub, to his Fusion Team Hub. Since you created the data, you own the data - but the data would now be stored in his Fusion Team storage. This way, if you leave his hub/company, the data still remains within his Team. In the event you leave the company, you would not need to delete your account - but he can mark your access as "inactive" - meaning you are no longer a member of that Fusion Team hub. You still "own" the data you created, but would have no access to it.

Hello @James.Youmatz

Thank you for your information, in the scenario you describe:

Account A transfers STORAGE of Project X into Team hub.

Account A is set as INACTIVE

Account A is still the OWNER of Project X, but cannot access it.

What would happen then if Account A's subscription expires?? Do the other team members lose the ability to export or save work from Project X?

Thank you
