Fusion 360 Browser Remains When Minimized

Since the most recent update I have been experiencing an issue where if I minimize Fusion the browser on the left hand side and the Navigator and the bottom remain behind on the desktop. This used to happen before but all I would have to do is click anywhere on the desktop and the bowser would disappear.

Now the browser and navigator remain behind regardless of what i do. If I open another window, say Safari or another app, the browser does not affect it, just the desktop. The browser navigator also appear to still be fully functional even when fusion is minimized. I can hide and show objects, expand and collapse the folders for example .

This wouldn't be a big issue but anything under the browser on my desktop I can not access. I've had to move everything on my desktop to the righthand side so they won't be affected by this.

Is this a know issue or am I the only one with this problem?

Here is a screenshot of my desktop

Hi,

Thanks for reporting this and providing an image. And no, you're not alone. Developers are looking at the issue now.

Are you using an external monitor with a macbook pro laptop?

I have the same issue I am running a 2019 Macbook Pro 16 running Monterey 12.1.  I have this issue when I run with an external monitor and when I am running without an external monitor.

Same here been hoping it's fixed after every update iMac 2019 OSX12.1.  It reappears when arranging other windows or exposé.  The small bottom toolbar does this too.

This has to be a fusion bug not MAC.  Only product that does anything like this is Fusion.

Opening quicktime usually gets rid of this for me temporarily.

- Time Magazine’s Person of the Year 2006
- Apple M1 Max rMBP A2485 // Latest MacOS // Latest Fusion
- Usually working off files uploaded to Fusion as: Step, STL, SLDPRT. If it matters ask me.

There are some recent improvements* in this area. If you want to try them out, join the Fusion Insider program.

*not to include what happens when you drag Fusion 360 between alternate desktops.

I believe this is a bug with Fusion as it runs on MacOS Monterrey. It treats all the floating tools as separate application windows, but fails to keep them "on top" of the main application window. The result is that when you click on the main window, all the floating tools (browser, comments, view controls, etc.) disappear behind the main window. There is no workaround AFAIK, and the only way to bring these floating tool windows back is to activate Expose, and find the tool window & click on it, which brings it back into the forefront; that is until you interact with your model again. Very frustrating!

This bug brings usability of the product on MacOS Monterrey to a crawl.

Did this insider build resolve the problem?  Can anybody with access tell me will it help?

I found a workaround for the issue. If you click on the double arrow in the upper left hand corner of the browser (which will completely collapse the browser to the left hand side) before minimizing Fusion, the browser menu will minimize with the rest of the window.

I cant believe this is still an issue, its been a problem for me for a few years now.  Even still with my newer macbook 2021 Running the latest version of Monterey same issue.  No external monitors here.

Agreed I have a new M1 running Monterey its been at least 2 years for me.  Oh but they managed to send me a bill on time.  Wonder what happens if I wait till this is fixed to pay my bill????

I have the opposite problem (for now..) where the windows will go behind the main fusion window. So I cant use the browser or see the design history. You can use short cuts to hide and unhide these but doing that every time you want to even look at the design history or browser is very frustrating.. It's now even happening without an external monitor. Not being able to use an external screen means fusion is reserved for hobbyists, not being able to use it even without an external monitor means it's getting close to unusable. I dont want to install a windows partition and run solidworks but it's getting close to that point.

Hi, and thanks for reporting this. Unfortunately at this time we haven't been able to solve this issue, but we have been working on it and obviously would prefer to fix it.

While this is ongoing, there is a knowledge article with workarounds. Have you seen this article? Perhaps something there will help, and if not, please let me know.
