Fusion 360 and Student Data Privacy

Hello,

I represent a school in Connecticut.  Recent student data privacy laws have required us to look to other options for gaining our students access to Fusion 360 without providing more than 2 pieces of personally identifiable information.

I know that autodesk offers a teacher dashboard for Tinkercad and allows access for students through a link and provides monitoring options for the teacher.  Does something similar exist for Fusion 360?  Are there other thoughts as to how we can gain access?

Thank you.

Hello Friend!

The 360 fusion is a great platform for working in teams and just sharing tasks and project files.
In the option provided in the image below you can explore the first step to your sharing!

After performing these steps you can access the shared file or even track the data on the A360
I hope this can help you, if you are in doubt I will be there to provide more information!

Greetings!

Lucas, thank you for the information.  We have enjoyed the sharing capabilities of Fusion.  However, our issue remains.  We need to be able to provide student access without providing personally identifiable information in some manner.  How have others worked with this and/or does Autodesk have a suggested solution, and/or will they sign off on a district security contract?

Thanks!

The concern is in the registering of students with their names and emails.  Based on recent laws, we can not require students to register to use a product which requires more than two pieces of personally identifiable information on initial product setup or log in.

We LOVE the product, but need to protect our students' personal information.  Is there a work around or other option?  Again, I'm so impressed with how Tinkercad has solved the issue.

Hi
I'm a teacher in Western Australia and it appears that from January 2021 our Education Department will ban the use of Fusion 360 due to student data privacy concerns. Did you ever manage to resolve the concerns that you flagged in your posts from 2018?
Cheers

Thanks @HughesTooling my thought is to forward this to the team responsible. There isn't much I can do other than that. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

@Anonymous , can you provide more information about the upcoming ban you mention? Is that for all country, or a specific region?

I worked on getting Fusion 360 allowed in the state of New York, which introduced additional restrictions last summer.

Please send me any other information to guillermo.melantoni@ autodesk.com. and I can work with the privacy team to find the right solution.
