Fractions of inch and decimals in sketch

Hi,

I am attempting to model resin infused paper honeycomb core. The product is manufactured in inches. The cell size is 3/8 of an inch. If I use fractions in my sketch of the core, the lengths are not within reasonable tolerances. I need 0.123 or better 0.1234 precision. I cannot find out how to set my inch dimensions to decimals instead of fractions.

Cheers,

Tony

HI @Tony-Warren,

Thank you for posting in the Fusion 360 community!

Can you please go to the Preferences window (under your account name menu) and "Unit and Value Display" tab to change the settings if you have not?

In the window, you might set the format, precision, and trailing zeros in dimensions to display.

As I would apply the new settings to dimensions I have placed, I am going to double-click on it.

If I misunderstood something, please let me know.

Thanks!

Thank you for your input. My problem is that my 'normal' units are metric.
I only want to make one design using british units. Do you have a
workaround for that?

Tony

Hi Tony,

Thank you for the update!

You can set unit for each design file at "Document Settings" in BROWSER without changing the setting of the "normal" unit.

The below image shows the steps to change the unit in the file.

Hopefully this helps.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Sorry that does not set the decimals and what not. Using that I merely get
fractions of inches.
