Floating point overflow

Hey,

I have a problem on my MacBook Pro 13inch 2016 without touch bar. I have trouble mirroring a body, every time I want to do it an error message pops up saying "floating point overflow." I researched online and I found that most commonly it is because of missing a discreet graphics card. Is there anyway to solve this problem? Is there maybe some external GPU's which can be connected to make up for this? What are my choices?

Thanks

Could you share a copy of the design? Feel free to private message me if you are more comfortable with that.

Does this happen when you mirror all bodies or just one in particular? What if you mirror about a different mirror plane?

I know there was an issue with High Sierra + Touchbar + Fusion 360, but I believe this issue has been addressed. More info here.

I'd like to see if I can reproduce the error message on my computer. I look forward to your update.

Thanks,

Hey,

So, yes mirroring did work once before on another file. I didn't try mirroring this on another plane yet, but I will. I can attach a document, hope you can open it in fusion. The problem is with "rib64" under construction. I don't have High Sierra yet, just OS Sierra. The interesting thing is that it works on windows 7 in my university if I open the same file.

Thanks

That is interesting. This does seem to be a MacOS specific issue and I can reproduce. I've logged this to be reviewed by a developer (reference number FUS-36454).

In the current build, you may be able to work around the issue by taking advantage of model symmetry. I suspect the error is being caused by some very small discrepancy in the model geometry that seems to agree with the windows build and not the mac build, but I'm just taking a guess here.

Below is a screencast of a potential work-around solution you may use on MacOS.

Thanks for reporting this issue to us! We'll take a closer look. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you,

So it is not due to missing discreet graphics? Also, could you please let me know if there is a fix to the problem?

Thank you again,
