Flat pattern base view for sheet metal won't go onto drawing - clicking OK gives red box

Trying to add a flat sheet metal pattern to a drawing but the base view will not appear or stick onto the drawing as it normally does.  If I just click onto the drawing anyway, no base view drops in as it usually does, but the OK button in the dialog box activates, then if I click OK I just get a red box on the drawing.

While in the same model, some other sheet metal part flat patterns successfully went onto the page as normal.  I can't see why this is working for some flat patterns but not others.

This non sticking base view and red-box-instead problem has happened for several other models and drawings, so

not isolated to my current model.   Any suggestions to resolve?

What happens if you click Finish Flat Pattern?

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Closing the drawing and open it again. Now try to add the flat pattern to the drawing. This should resolve the issue.
