Fit Spline stacked points issue, not creating profile for extruding sketch.

Fit Spline stacked points issue, not creating profile for extruding sketch.

I used a fit point spline to outline an image I'm looking to extrude.

For some reason, I cannot select the overall sketch as a profile to do so. Or rather the closed sketch doesn't recognize it's closed so I can extrude it.

I researched this across multiple forums and found that maybe my points are stacked points? (black dots) which if that's the case I only spot 3 main dots which register as stacked/fixed points. I hovered my mouse over them and saw the points underneath but they won't delete.

So I looked into coincident constraints, but I cannot delete anything either that way..

My overall goal is just to have these points connect normally and allow me to extrude. The points are indeed snapped together and are closed.

This is very frustrating. I've included a snapshot.

use the find-break-in-sketch-geometry method to find the problem.  Usually it is some kind of small break in the sketch.

Also, always share your designs if you want better/faster help.  Not much we can do with a screen shot...

I used the screen cast application so you can better see the problem. Those "find break in geometry tools" you recommended didn't work. I researched the black dots vs the white dots. Do stacked points also not allow the profile to be created?

I tried going in to delete some points but that didn't work. I've never had this kind of issue before just trying to extrude a simple complex spline tracing. I really don't want to have to re-trace the whole canvas again.

Any help is appreciated.

- Thank you

stacked points will not prevent a profile from being recognized, in general.  If you share your design here we can see whether this is a bug, or if there is some other issue with your sketch.  Thanks,

@Anonymous Did you manage to solve the issue? I'm having the same problem with my spline traces. A weird thing I noticed is that moving a random point in the geometry can sometimes make the profile show up. But it gets even stranger. If I manage to get the face to appear and then, deselect "Show profile" in the sketch palette and select "Show profile" again - the face is gone...
