I drew a control point spline in a 3d sketch, the spline represents basically a straight line with two perpendicular curves in it. Now I want to find the tangent to the spline. Realizing there are two of them I projected the spline in a xy-plane. I expect to be able to find the tangent in any point of the projected line. After I select the spline the symbol for tangent gets highlighted in the menu bar but I cannot select the projected line. I can select the line representing the tangent. See attached picture.
Please advice,
thanks.

Hi,
1. are you sure creating a controlpoint spline > what I see is a fit point spline
2. contolpoint splines don´t have tangent handles
3. please share your design:

direct spline tangency is only supported at curve endpoints. You can get around this for a fit point spline, but only at those fit points by making a line that is parallel to the tangent handle of that fitpoint.
thank you both, Günther and Jeff! I have to find a workaround then. Too bad to hear that basic functionality is not supported though.
thanks anyway,
cheers!
