File|Export to STL - "failed"- why 0% information other than that??

3 times in a row, I exported to STL (on a mac) and 3 times, I got Status "Failed".

Ultimately- the cause was I hadn't "saved" (since the last change? no idea).

What I'd like to know is why I- as a newb- have to know to save anything? Why is the computer not doing this bookkeeping for me? And secondarily, why is the error so useless?

"Failed" doesn't give me a -chance- of fixing it myself without wasting time googling the issue.

Probably because you haven`t asked the computer to do this task for you, have a look in your preferences and check out what the "Recovery" time is set to, try setting it to a lower number ??

However I don`t get that issue, as one has to be online in order to export any file what normally happens is that Fusion will automatically re-save the file before exporting so I am not sure what is happening with your setup, it may be the Mac version which I don`t know anything about so good luck going forward 🙂 🙂 🙂

Do you not get a notification when exporting that a new version will be saved as in the image below ??
