You are posting on the Fusion 360 forum. Fusion 360 will never export an .ipt since it is the file extension of an Autodesk inventor part file.

Hi @rich9XLE4,
Thanks for raising your query onto Autodesk Forum.
As per my understanding if your Fusion 360 design consist of only bodies then when you export it as a Inventor file it will export it as *.ipt. But if your design consist of an assemblies and components then it will export it as a zip file which will include all the corresponding *.iam and *.ipt files in it.
I hope this answers your question.
Thanks and Regards,

Hmmm.
After exporting your assembly, right click on the *.zip file and select Extract All (on Windows OS, not sure on Mac).
My mistake, I guess I had a brain fart.
