Feature Request - ALLOW OPACITY CONTROL IN SHADED VIEWS IN 2D DRAWINGS

Hi,

In 2D Drawings, when you place a Shaded view of a model, it would be nice to be able to adjust the OPACITY of that view.

Many times my components or design are BLACK ( i.e black powder cost ect) and a Shaded view does not show the details of that view, its just a black blob, so if we could adjust the opacity of the shading, then we would still see the colour and shading of the object but it would allow the details to be seen.

Also if placing a view that's flat like sheet metal etc, then filling in the object using a small amount of shading would display the object much clearer , especially if it has a lot of holes and cutouts.

The only way i can achieve this at the moment is to modify the appearance in the design , make my drawing, save it and then remember to change it back.

If we could add an OPACITY Control next to the shaded button option, it would default to 100 percent, but we could then simply adjust the shading amount for each view.

what do you think?

Thanks Dave M

Hello @ImDaveM

Thank you for the feature request. I will take the request to the Product Management, which will take further decisions.

Just a couple of questions which popped up in my mind, Do you expect the opacity control over entire view or individual components? Also, apart from this are there any other entities in the drawings would you like to control the opacity of?

Hi Rohit,

Thanks for replying,

"Do you expect the opacity control over entire view or individual components? "

I think best to have it as individual control, as each view may have more or less details to highlight depending in the angle of the view, You could have the same settings that "Get settings from parent view" to be consistent with F360 UI.

"are there any other entities in the drawings would you like to control the opacity of?"

Yes, Would like to control the opacity of the tangents lines.

You may also need to allow for a Colour Picker for shading, as objects that are white / transparent would not shade, the idea is to show the fill of an area to make it stand out ( just slightly) from the background of white.

This feature would be really handy for drawings created for PCB's .

Thanks

Thanks

Thanks for the reply,

Its very busy at the moment, got heaps to design and make! ( Fusion is slowing me down!)

I would love to have an online chat. I will let you know!
I would need to make up some mock-ups to illustrate my idea first.

Thanks for the invite!
