F360 won't start without Internet connection?

Yesterday we had an Internet outage that lasted for hours. Being limited in what I can do w/o the 'Net, I thought I'd work on a project. I was surprised to find that F360 wouldn't start. Further, today when I started Fusion I was asked to log in, which I haven't had to do in months.

Before the 'Net went down, I had updated to the latest release and left the program running overnight. The next morning with the 'Net back in service I had to reboot for an update. I didn't attempt to restart F360 until after the 'Net was down, which is when I ran into this issue. So...

Is an Internet connection normally required to start F360?

If the 'Net goes down while I was working on a project, would F360 shut down?

I'm using a hobby license - could that make a difference?

TIA!

I'm on subscription and recently I've noticed that Fusion will not start unless there is an internet connection also; I believe this is something new.  If I have Fusion open and the internet goes down or I turn it off I can continue without a problem however, I don't have access to some files on the cloud.  If you know you'll need access it would be best to right click on the particular file and "Add to offline cache".

If I shut Fusion down while there is no internet connection, I have to log back in unless internet is restored before shut down; I believe this is something new also.

@casterle Thank you for using Fusion360. Offline mode needs to be enabled before launching the software without the internet. While working if you happen to lose internet, Fusion360 goes into offline mode. You will be able to work but with limited functionality, till Fusion360 is back online. Below are some of the posts to help understand working with Fusion360 in offline mode.

@casterle The hobby license is not a factor.

I've logged a ticket for this to investigate why Fusion doesn't start in an offline state when internet is disconnected.

The key here is that Fusion was not running when internet was lost. If this happens while Fusion is running you will be notified that Fusion 360 is experiencing connection difficulty and will operate offline. Only recently cached designs (that you were working on recently), or intentionally cached designs that you have added to offline cache.

Thanks for reporting this. Sorry for the inconvenience.
