Extrude tool bug

Extrude tool bug

I've got a component that I want to add a rebate to:

I've created a sketch on the face and added the line with dimensions.

I then close the sketch and try to use the extrude tool with cut and minus dept to remove the section.

The preview shows exactly what I want but when I click ok, the component cut disappears.

After a bit of experimenting, I've found that the extrude changes direction after I click ok, so if I extrude with the join option longer than the component, it sticks out from the correct face but through the component.

I've even tried entering a cut with a positive distance but it won't let me, so I'm stuck.

this is almost certainly specific to your model.  Can you share the model so that we can investigate this behavior?

Sure, it's the last extrude in the time line.

thanks!  We'll look into it.  Definitely seems like a bug.

I had this happen on a design this week. Tried to copy the component to another design so I could share it but it works correctly in the copy.

I want the extrude the other way but had to set the distance to -10, I then get +10 when I pick OK!

After clicking OK.

cannot yet figure out what is weird about this design that is causing the flip.  Seems very straightforward.  I created FUS-81156 for this issue.  Will update you when we know more.  If you need a workaround, there are plenty, but thanks for reporting this and sharing the model.

Had the same issue today on a new design from scratch.
