Extrude operation errors when referencing a derived parameter

I have a shape that I have extruded from a derived sketch using a derived parameter for the extrude distance. I then use different selections from the derived sketch to cut into the first body. When I use a derived parameter for the distance I get the error:

Cannot extend extrusion to object. The extrusion profile falls outside the boundary of the selected body. Select a face or plane instead, or adjust the profile so that it falls inside the boundary of the selected body.

If I enter a literal value for the distance the extrude operation works.

These are the parameters I am bringing in from the derived design. I have favorited them so that they will auto-complete.

The initial extrude operation from this sketch worked fine using a derived parameter.

I don't understand what might be different about the second extrude. I tried a few things like setting the start to the bottom face of the box but I get the same error.

That is odd.  As far as I know, that error message should only appear when doing a to-face termination, not a distance termination.  Can you share that model here, and indicate what you are trying to do for that extrude?  Thanks.

Why does the highlighted entry in your screen capture show a distance of zero?

Attach your file here and end all doubt.

I just had the same problem.  When I went back into my parameters, I noticed that another parameter was showing invalid, and that second parameter was using the first parameter that was causing my extrude issue.  I created a new parameter, replaced the old parameter everywhere it was used, and deleted the old parameter.  The extrude took the new parameter without issues.
