Extrude Cut Results in Hollow Object

I imported an stl and converted mesh. When I extrude cut through the center channel using a circle, the inner surface is removed and leaves a hollow interior. Cutting the object using a plane results in solid objects. How can I extrude cut while preserving the objects interior as solid?

your bodies are surface bodies.  This is expected behavior for surface bodies.  I suspect that you want your bodies to be solid.  Most likely, this means that the mesh bodies these were converted from were not closed.

However, you would be better off re-designing these as native Fusion solids.  That way, you can preserve the cylinders in your design as cylinders, not as faceted, imprecise bodies.

You are getting these results because your Mesh Conversion gave you two Surface Bodies and not a Solid.  You may be able to go to the Surfaces menu and Stitch them together, but I did not try it.

@changsc

This would be a good model to start over from scratch

but first

you can clean this up a lot with

Thanks. This allowed me to extrude cut as a solid. I'll redesign from scratch eventually, but this saved me some time right now. Much appreciated!
