Extract Render Settings from Previous Renders

I found that rendering is a lot of trial and error. I often try out different environments, light positions and so on. In doing so, I end up with at least three different render settings and it did not only happen ones that the first or second setting turned out to be the best. If the position of the model was perfect in that render, it is not a problem but often I want to turn it a bit more or get a second perspective and here my problem arises. I can not get easily the same settings again because Fusion only remembers the last setup.

Therefore, it would be great to just copy the settings from a previous render or at least see them somewhere.

Hi,

What you are asking is not built into Fusion directly for rendering. You could try using saved versions of your design.

Each time you change a setting you can save a version of your design. These older versions can be opened or promoted to the current version at any time. Be sure to use a descriptive label when you save.

  • This would allow you to open and examine the render settings from an older version to use in the current version.
  • Or just promote the older version to use the render settings in it.

As long as all you are doing is rendering by this stage of your design, this will provide access to those render settings. If you do any modeling after this point, be sure to take that into account when accessing older versions of the design.

Please let me know if this helps or if you have any questions.

Hey Phil,

the actions you suggested I already considered but unfortunately, I had to change the design again so they were not very helpful.

But thank you for the reply.

Why this isn't a function is totally baffling! To copy and paste your render settings to multiple projects should really be added to the software.
