Exporting the files as step

Hello,

I have been using fusion 360 from the last 3 years. I need to highlight an issue I am facing while exporting the file as a .step format. On exporting, the files are successfully saved. But when I reopen those exported. step files, all the textures in the file disappears. and also, the black color used in the files if any becomes grey.

Kindly help me regarding the same.

By definition STEP files do not contain textures. Step files mostly contain 3D geometry in form of BRep or NURBS geometry.

Thanks for your reply.

And what about the black colour which becomes grey? Do Step files also not keep the colors constant?

STEP214 can also contain color information. But I am not entirely sure how that is handled in Fusion 360. you can only assign colors through appearance materials which include color but also other information.
