Exporting f3d files does not update date and time on the file

For Windows 10. Exporting f3d files does not update date and time on the file unless you save as a new name.

If I have the project "Whatever" and I originally export it to "Whatever.f3d". I do some changes and now have the project "Whatever v2". If I export this to the same filname "Whatever.f3d" the date and time on that file will not update. If I however export it to the suggested filename "Whatever v2.f3d" that file will get a new date and time.

If I delete the original file "Whatever.f3d" and export to this name effectively creating a new file it still doesn't get a new date and time. I have to export to a new filename. Which is inefficient as I do not need multiple archive files and in most cases just want to overwrite the existing file.

Hi,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with Windows.

I tested your workflow using my own Windows 10 computer and do not see any problem. Windows will overwrite the exported file and it gets new Windows OS attributes for time/size.

It seems strange that you could save a design, say yesterday or a week ago, and then overwrite the file and Windows would not give it a new date or other information. That just doesn't sound like normal Windows OS file saving behavior.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can help with.

What happened was the folder, and only this folder, where I had my Fusion 360 files, the date column was set to creation date and not updated date. Totally a Windows 10 issue, but because it was only this folder not easy to spot. And why this happened I don't know. You need specific actions to do this which I'm sertain I did not do.
